I got a KodakDC210 digital camera.  It goes through batteries like a hot knife through butter, but all in all, I am pleased with the results of this camera.  I have taken lots of indoor pictures, mainly of my kitties, but other stuff too.  I have written some software to control the camera and transfer the photos for Linux.  You can have a copy of my software if you like.  You can retrieve it from here.  I have also written a "backend" for the  SANE project.

My friend Darren and his girlfriend were here a while ago, so where else in Vancouver do you take somebody from eastern Canada (Ontario) to show them the beauty of this province?  Whistler of course!  Here are some pictures I took from that trip.

I spend quite a few hours a week fighting spam.  Please help stamp it out.

In January of 1998 I got a couple of new kitties.  Wow it is hard to believe I have had them that long.  They are just too much fun.  Want to see them?

What exites me in the computing world?

Not a heck of a lot.  :-)  Seriously, I am on board with Linus' goal of Linux world domination.  :-)  OpenSource is the only way for computer software to truely evolve.  Netscape thinks so.  It has released the source code to Navigtor, under a project named Mozilla.  Let's hope they are right.

I am starting to jump on the Gnome desktop bandwagon.  It looks good, and is OpenSource as well. Debian and RedHat have both said that it will be their desktop choice of the future, as well, Netscape has chosen GTK+ as their X development environment.  GTK+ is a toolkit for building graphical applications on Xwindows, which Gnome builds upon heavily.
